DAY 1:

ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL

Upon arrival, you shall be warmly welcomed by our company driver guide who shall then transfer you to Hotel Horizon Entebbe for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO MABAMBA FOR SHOEBILL AND EQUATOR EXPERIENCE

Immediately after taking your breakfast in the morning, we shall leave for Mabamba wetland and do Shoebill tracking. We shall travel via Mpigi-Kasanje route and get a boat and sail to the wetland. While in the wetland, we shall be likely to spend more than 4 hours tracking for the rare shoebill stork. You are likely to spot other animals and birds while in Mabamba. These include, Sitatungas, Vervet monkeys, African rock python and many other more.

Mabamba wetland Ramsar site is the only place where the rare shoe bill stork can be spotted at any time of the day in the World.

After the shoebill tracking, we shall sail back to the mainland and drive to Kayabwe where we shall stop over for pictures and lunch. After you’ve taken your lunch, we shall embark on our journey to Mbarara city and check in Agip Motel for dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK.

In the morning, after you have taken your breakfast, we shall hit the road and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park where we shall do the gorilla trekking the following day.

After arrival, you shall check in your lodge, have lunch and have a free afternoon at the lodge. Or (Optional) you can also choose to go for a boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi (the second deepest lake in Africa) and visit the islands like the Akampene (Punishment island) Where the Bakiga used to leave unmarried pregnant girls to die of hunger or while trying to swim to the mainland (swimming skills were rare). This was to intimidate the rest, to show them not to do the same. A man without cows to pay the bride price could go to the island and pick up a girl. The practice got abandoned in the first half of the 20th century. Other major islands include, Bwama and Njuyeera islands.

DAY 4:

GORILLA TREKKING IN BUHOMA SECTOR.

Upon waking up to the sounds and songs of the birds in one of Uganda’s oldest forest and having your breath taking breakfast in the morning, we shall drive to Buhoma sector for Gorilla trekking. Upon arrival, we shall be briefed by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide and after go for the trekking with guidance of a ranger guide. this activity may take a whole day and therefore we shall carry packed lunch with us. After the trekking, you shall be transferred back to your lodge and relax as you wait for dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 5:

TRANSFER TO KAMPALA FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY

After breakfast and saying your farewells to the lodge keepers, we shall hit the road and transfer back to Kampala Via Kisoro-Kabale-Mbarara-Kampala highway. You shall have packed lunch from Haven lodge along the way to Kampala. Upon arrival, you shall check in your lodge, have dinner and stay for the overnight.

DAY 6:

TRANSFER TO JINJA AND VISIT THE SOURCE OF THE NILE

Immediately after taking your breakfast in the morning, we shall hit the road and embark on a journey to the East of the capital Kampala to Jinja (The Adventure Capital of East Africa). Upon arrival, you shall be driven to the Nile discovery resort where you shall have lunch and after go for a boat trip to the source of the Nile, the longest river in the world.

After visiting the source of the nile, you shall be transferred to your lodge for a free evening.

DAY 7:

TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Immediately you have taken  breakfast in the morning, you shall be driven back to Entebbe and catch your flight back home. On route, we shall have a stopover in Mabira forest for a brief nature walk and then proceed to the Airport for your departure.

Itinerary

Day 1Airport Pick-up and Transfer to Hotel Horizon
