Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our tour guide will welcome you. You will be transported to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the vibrant city. Should you wish to visit Mabamba Swamp or Ngamba Island, our team will organize a vehicle or boat for your convenience.
After breakfast this morning, we will embark on a road trip to the habitat of the mountain gorillas. The eight-hour journey offers a full day to immerse in the vistas of Uganda, ‘The Pearl of Africa.’ A trip to Bwindi is not complete without a visit to the renowned Equator mark at Kayabwe. This world-famous landmark is a sight to behold, so remember to have your camera ready for some unforgettable photos and take the opportunity to purchase souvenirs at the local craft shops.
At the UWA briefing point in Bwindi, locals will entertain guests. Subsequently, each group will be assigned a gorilla family to track for the day, accompanied by an armed ranger. Due to the close genetic relationship between humans and these gentle giants, travelers exhibiting symptoms of airborne diseases are advised against approaching mountain gorillas. In some cases, they may be outright denied the opportunity to trek if rangers deem it necessary. It is recommended that travelers treat any flu or cough symptoms before their journey.
The trekking experience can last from one to three hours and may involve navigating slippery trails. Travelers have the option to hire a local porter to assist with carrying luggage and equipment during the trek. While tracking is the highlight of the day, various stops offer a chance to relax and observe birds and monkeys, as well as explore one of Uganda’s most beautiful rainforests. Upon completion of the trek, participants will receive a certificate and have the opportunity to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Today, we’ll enjoy an early breakfast and gear up for an exhilarating safari in the Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its acacia-dotted landscape and tree-climbing lions. There’s a good chance of encountering leopards, buffaloes, and hyenas. For bird enthusiasts, this sector boasts saline crater lakes that attract flamingos visible throughout the day.
Post-lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lakes George and Albert. This area is home to an abundance of hippos, more than any other place worldwide, as well as herds of buffaloes and elephants that frequent the water’s edge to quench their thirst. Remarkably, crocodiles here live in harmony with other animals, refraining from hunting them.
Later in the day, you’ll retreat to the lodge for some well-deserved relaxation.
After breakfast, you will embark on another fantastic game drive for a couple of hours before setting off for Kibale National Park. Along the way, you will participate in a community tour of the salt mining operations at Lake Katwe, then proceed to your next destination. A lunch break at Garden Restaurant is scheduled, followed by a tour of the Tooro Kingdom Palace. Later in the evening, you will check into your hotel.
Start the day with an early breakfast and prepare to meet our cousins in the wild. It is recommended that you carry enough drinking water in case you opt to go for chimpanzee habituation rather than tracking. Packed lunch will be a better option. Our tour begins with a briefing where a ranger gives you rules and regulations for encounters with chimpanzees, birds, and monkeys. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a community tour that will take you through the small communities, swamps, and tea plantations.
The locals here will teach you how to make crafts and herbal medicine. You will have the opportunity to taste some of the finest locally made coffee, gins, and beers. Nevertheless, the highlight of these walks is the transition to see at least five different species of monkeys and catch a glimpse of the blue turaco.
You will depart early in the morning for Kampala, pausing for lunch near the Equator in Kayabwe along the Kampala-Masaka highway. Upon reaching the Equator, you’ll have the opportunity to capture some extraordinary photos and purchase unique souvenirs at one of the local craft shops, which offer items such as African attire, paintings, and sculptures. The journey, lasting between five to six hours, promises to invigorate you with its stunning landscapes.”
