After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will be transferred to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Kampala is a vibrant and bustling city, with many attractions and activities to offer. You will check in to your hotel and have some time to rest and refresh. In the afternoon, you will visit the Independence Monument, a symbol of Uganda’s freedom from British colonial rule, depicting a woman holding up her child to the sky. You will also visit the Twekobe Palace, the former residence of the Kabaka and seat of power of the kings of Buganda, one of the oldest and largest kingdoms in Uganda. You will learn about the history and culture of the people of Buganda as well as the events that shaped Uganda’s politics and destiny. You will also see the Torture Chambers, built by dictator Idi Amin to imprison and execute his opponents.
After breakfast, you will drive to Jinja, a former capital of the British protectorate of Uganda and located at the source of the Nile River, the longest river in the world. You will visit the Speke Monument, a memorial to John Hanning Speke, the British explorer who discovered the source of the Nile in 1862. You will also visit the spot where Indian peace activist Mahatma Ghandi’s memorial monument before hoping aboard for a boat ride on the Nile, admiring the scenery and wildlife along the way. You will have lunch at a riverside restaurant and then proceed to your hotel for check-in and relaxation.
After breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park, famous for its spectacular waterfall where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge and plunges 45 meters transforming into a placid stream. You will check in to your lodge, have lunch and have some time to relax. In the evening, you will enjoy a game drive in the park, where you can see animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, leopards, and more.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a boating Safari on the Nile River, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other aquatic life. You will also get close to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can feel the power and spray of the water. You will then hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you can see the river from a different perspective and take amazing photos. You will have lunch at a picnic site and then return to your lodge for relaxation.
Have Breakfast and Check-out of your Safari Lodge, say goodbye to Murchison Falls National Park as we proceed to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a privately-run Rhino conservation ranch where you will go on a guided Tour of the facility.
Our last stopover will be at a local restaurant where you shall have the opportunity to sample the local cuisine before we drive you to the Airport in time for your departing flight.
