You shall be warmly received and welcomed to the Land of a thousand hills by a driver-guide from our trusted Rwanda partners, who shall orient you about the details of your Holiday itinerary and there after take you on a city Tour of Kigali, the Rwandan capital and one of Africa’s cleanest cities. In this segment, you shall visit the Inema Arts center, a beautiful creativity hub in the heart of Kigali, founded by re-known Rwandan artists Innocent Nkurunziza & Emmanuel Nkuranga. The center provides a variety of activities and exhibitions that let you discover the culture of the people of Rwanda and a beautiful creativity hub in the heart of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, your guide will then take you to sample the Rwandan cuisine at a local restaurant.
Thereafter, your guide shall drive you to your booked accommodation at Amata n’Ubuki Boutique Hotel where you shall check-in, refresh and relax in preparation for the next day’s activities.
You will have an early breakfast, check-out of your hotel and embark on the 3-hour drive to the Volcanoes National Park. This drive takes you through the beautiful mountainous countryside and vast tea plantations as you learn why Rwanda is referred to as “the beautiful land of a thousand hills”.
Once you reach the park, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing by the ranger guides after which you will embark on a thrilling trek through the forest to find one of the habituated gorilla families and spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat.
You will then be taken to your accommodation at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel which has comfortable and cozy rooms with modern amenities, a swimming pool, a sauna, a steam bath, and a massage room. You will check-into your hotel for lunch and relax for the rest of the day.

Get up early to sweet sounds of wild birds, have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the ranger guides, this time the briefing shall be about your Golden Monkey trekking experience and trek to the bamboo zone of the forest to look for the endangered golden monkeys, which are endemic to the Birunga Mountains region, You will spend an hour watching these playful and colorful primates as they jump from tree to tree and hop from branch to branch.
You will return to the Hotel for lunch and then visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village where you will learn about the local culture and traditions of the former poachers who now work as conservationists.
You will enjoy a cultural Intore performance that includes songs, dances, drumming while you mix & mingle with the friendly villagers. After enjoying your cultural encounter you shall return to your hotel accommodation for refreshment, relaxation + dinner and overnight.
You will have a relaxed leisurely breakfast, say your goodbyes to the staff at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel & check out for a drive to Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes, and enjoy a morning of kayaking on its calm and clear waters, you will admire the stunning scenery of the lake and its islands, and spot some birds and watch the local fishermen as they go about their daily lives.
Lunch shall be at a local cuisine restaurant on the lakeside before you are driven back to Kigali, check in at Amata n’Ubuki Boutique Hotel, relax and have some free time.
