Our five days safari to the true African wilderness will kick off early morning from either Entebbe or Kampala. You will have a lunch stop at Ziwa rhino’s sanctuary where you will also visit the only Rhinos in Uganda in a Rhino tracking session and later cross the Great River Nile as we transfer you onwards to Gulu city for your over-night stay at the Boma Hotel.
After breakfast, we shall transfer you to the rugged semi arid but beautiful valleys of Kidepo Valley National Park. The exclusive savannah plains are a habitat for over 77 mammal species which include the famous Africa big five as well as around 475 bird species. You will arrive in time for lunch and afterwards head for your initial game drive where the wildlife encounters make National Geographic Widlife Documentaries seem like child’s play.
Today you will set out early for a game drive for an opportunity to look into morning animal behavior. Keep an eye out for elephant, warthog, duiker, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, cheetah and enjoy sights and chirps from hundreds of beautiful bird species. After an afternoon rest, you will have another game drive that will lead you to the Hot springs. You will take a walk around these hot water streams as you marvel at the natural make up of this phenomena and examine the traditional folk stories about the healing ability of the hot spring water and its religious significance to the local Karamojong warrior tribe.
After breakfast, embark on arguably the best setting for a morning game drive in Uganda. This segment of your Safari leads into the depths of the the Narus Valley where thriving birdlife is in full sight. In the evening, we drive to a nearby village for your Karamojong community experience as you discover the interesting beliefs and values of the Karimojong people. You will also be able to see some of their traditional tools, crafts and jewelry. You will meet the village elder who shall invite you for a vigorous leaping dance with these jolly individuals who share common heritage with other warrior tribes like the Masai, Turkana, Samburu, Borana, among others.
You will have an early breakfast as you wind up your safari and prepare for a long road journey to Entebbe or any other destination of your choice. Don’t forget to look out the beautiful landscape and features along the way. Where applicable, you will be driven to the airport to catch your flight back home.
