Entebbe is a unique Ugandan Town with a rich History. It was the Capital of the then British Protectorate of Uganda as well as Commissioner Sir Gerald Portal’s base in 1893. The Word Entebbe is derived from the Luganda dialect a language spoken by the Baganda people of Central Uganda and means “Seat” or “Chair” when translated to English.
Entebbe is also notorious for being the site where the daring Israeli military operation known as “Operation Thunderbolt” was carried out successfully during Idi Amin’s infamous reign as President of Uganda.
