Murchison falls national park is the largest and the oldest in Uganda covering an area of 3,893km sq. It is located in the northern end of the rift valley with over 76 mammals and 451 bird species. Murchison Falls National Park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda and is a must-visit for any one seeking a luxury Safari getaway experience.
It is known for the massive water falls where the Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop at a rate of 200 bath tubs per second. It is also a perfect place to spot Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes and Rhinos which are collectively referred to as the Big Five. Rhinos are however are non existent within the park although we shall visit a private sanctuary where conservation efforts are under way to re-introduce these creatures into the wild.

(Remember to bring your cameras along since there will be plenty of photo opportunities while
on safari).
We shall then say goodbye to Kampala city and begin our road trip to Murchison falls national park via Luwero triangle and have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary where efforts are in place to increase the species’ population in order to save these creatures from extinction. We will have a rhino tracking session at this facility after which we proceed to Masindi town for lunch before we enter Murchison Falls National Park via its Kichumbanyobo gate to see the rest of the Big 5.

GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE
You will have an early morning breakfast and then set off for the game drive where you will encounter the Big Five on their Home turf. You will get to learn important facts about these animals like their gestation periods, mating behavior, unique characteristics, hunting techniques and many more. Interacting with the
Big Five in the Wild is a different experience from viewing these animals at your local zoo and surely you will be blown away by this amazing experience. You should always have your Camera ready to snap memorable pictures as many photo opportunities will arise when you least expect them. The Game Ranger will lead this activity since the ranger has knowledge about the best locations to spot four of The Big Five as Rhino populations are no longer present here.
(Keep in mind that Big Five is a term used when collectively referring to Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Rhinos and Elephants).
Afternoon
We then head back to the lodge for lunch as we ready ourselves for a brilliantly rewarding boat cruise along the river Nile. The river Nile has two major tributaries namely the White Nile (from Uganda to Sudan and Egypt) and the Blue Nile (from Ethiopia to Sudan and Egypt), however in Uganda the White Nile is sub divided into two parts namely the Victoria Nile from Lake Victoria to Lake Albert and the
Albert Nile which starts from the north end of Lake Albert flowing up to the border with South Sudan.
While on the Boat, we expect to see large numbers of other animals like crocodiles, hippos and lots of birds including pied king fishers, long tailed cormorants and hopefully get to view Lions on a hunt as they are masters at pouncing on their prey who unsuspectingly come to the water source for a drink.
Evening
Return to the Lodge
After stepping ashore, we head back to the lodge in the evening for dinner, drinks and some rest so that we can be in shape for the next day’s activities. Camp fires shall be set up for you as you enjoy the sunset and evening drinks while re-collecting tales of how the day went.
