Itinerary

Day 1Arrive at Entebbe International Airport + Transfer to Hotel + Check in

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a representative from our company will greet you. You will then be transported to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to discover the captivating city. Should you wish to visit Mabamba Wetland or Ngamba Island, our team will arrange a car or boat for your convenience.

Day 2Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park + Stopover at the Equator crossing line

After breakfast, proceed through Masaka City towards Lake Mburo National Park, pausing briefly at the Equator point. Upon arrival at Lake Mburo in time for lunch, take the opportunity to relax for the rest of the afternoon and evening. The splendid Mburo night game drive commences at 7 o’clock. During the game drive, anticipate encountering nocturnal wildlife such as snakes, hyenas, owls, and perhaps, with a bit of luck, the elusive leopard.

Day 3Plains Game Drive + Transfer Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Lake Bunyonyi Islands

After breakfast, we will embark on a morning game drive or choose an exhilarating horseback safari to observe more wildlife spectacles. Our journey proceeds to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, famed for its scenic assemblage of 29 tiny islands, many visible from the restaurant’s balcony where you can enjoy your lunch. The day will end with a trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where we will relax and get ready for the following day’s gorilla trekking.

Day 4Trekking the Mountain Gorilla

At the UWA briefing point in Bwindi, locals will entertain you before assigning each group a gorilla family to track for the day, accompanied by an armed ranger. Due to the close relationship between humans and these gentle giants, travelers exhibiting symptoms of airborne diseases are advised against approaching mountain gorillas. In more severe cases, they may be outright denied the opportunity to trek. It is recommended to treat any flu or cough before traveling.

The trekking experience can last from one to three hours and may involve navigating slippery trails. You have the option to hire a local porter to assist with carrying luggage and equipment during the trek. While tracking is the day’s main highlight, various stops offer a chance to relax and observe birds and monkeys, as well as explore one of Uganda’s most beautiful rainforests. Upon completion of the trek, participants will receive a certificate and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 5Queens Game Drive (Kasenyi sector Queen Elizabeth National Park) + Boating Safari

Today, following an early breakfast, we will prepare for an exhilarating safari in the Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its extensive acacia groves and the unique tree-climbing lions. The likelihood of encountering leopards, buffaloes, or hyenas is high. For bird enthusiasts, this area boasts saline crater lakes where flamingos are often visible during the day.

Post-lunch, our adventure continues with a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, linking Lakes George and Edward. Here, amidst herds of buffaloes and elephants converging on the water’s edge, you’ll witness an astonishing number of hippos—more than anywhere else in the world. Remarkably, crocodiles coexist harmoniously with other wildlife in this region, refraining from aggression.

The day concludes with a return to the lodge for some well-deserved relaxation.

Day 6Kibale National Park + Tooro Kingdom Palace Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a few hours of another remarkable wildlife drive before proceeding to Kibale National Park. You will then partake in a tour of the Lake Katwe salt mining community before moving on. The itinerary also includes the Tooro Kingdom Palace Tour and a lunch break. Later that evening, you will check into your hotel.

Day 7Tracking Chimpanzees + Guided Wetland walk at Bigodi

Begin your day with breakfast, then prepare to meet our cousins in the wilderness. It is advisable to carry sufficient drinking water, especially if you opt for chimpanzee habituation over tracking. Opting for a packed lunch is a wiser choice. During the pre-tour briefing, a ranger will instruct you on the guidelines for interacting with chimps, birds, and monkeys. In the late afternoon, we embark on a community tour that takes us through rural communities, marshlands, and tea plantations.

At Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, you’ll have the opportunity to learn craft-making and herbal medicine preparation from local residents. You’ll also have the chance to taste some of the finest locally produced gins, beers, and coffees. However, the highlight of these excursions is the possibility of seeing at least five different monkey species and catching a glimpse of the elusive blue turaco.

Day 8Murchison Falls National Park

Our day will commence with an early breakfast, followed by a drive to Murchison Falls National Park to take in the stunning landscapes and plantation terraces. Upon arrival, we will proceed to our hotel, then embark on an afternoon hike to the falls’ summit. Afterwards, we will return to the lodge for some relaxation time.

Day 9Game Drive + Boat Trip

Today, we will embark on a half-day game drive in Murchison Falls National Park’s northern sector. In the afternoon, a boat cruise on the River Nile will take us to the base of the falls, followed by a hike to the top. Your driver will meet you on the opposite side to transport you back to the hotel.
Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest national park, is home to an abundance of wildlife. Among the savannah’s grasslands, one may spot lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, and hippos. This presents an ideal opportunity to spot the African Big Five.”

Day 10

Our day will begin with an early breakfast, followed by a journey to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

This sanctuary is the only breeding ground for white rhinos in Uganda. It was established as a conservation initiative aimed at propagating these majestic animals and eventually reintroducing them into game parks where they had been extinguished due to poaching and political unrest during the 1970s and 1980s.

Your excursion will conclude with a transfer to Entebbe International airport or anywhere else you may need to go. Thanks for choosing us. We look forward to hosting you in the Pearl of Africa
