Itinerary

Day 1Guided Rhino Tracking + Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Enjoy a delicious cup of tea/coffee at your respective hotel facility in Entebbe/Kampala city. After, meet your safari leader/driver guide who pick up and be ready to start your memorable road trip to Murchison Falls National Park.

Today’s journey takes the Northwestern circuit of Uganda via Kampala-Gulu highway. It will include an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for you to embark on active walk with rhinos in the wild. Expect to have an in-depth learning about rhinos’ behaviors and taking pictures of them while in the natural environment.

Leave Ziwa for Masindi where lunch will be had. After lunch, cross to Murchison Falls Park- Uganda’s biggest park and also home to the world’s powerful falls. At Kichumbanyobo gate in the south, drive while spotting some amazing fauna. You will be checking in at the pre-booked accommodation for a night stay.

Day 2Experience the best of Murchison Falls Park game drive and boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast, meet the driver guide for pick up at the lodge. Set off for an early morning game drive taking you via the Northern section of the park. The 2-3 game drive experience through this game track allows you see myriad of fauna including warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, bush elephants, oribis, hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, and birds.

Return from your game drive experience and settle for lunch plus some refreshments at the lodge. End the day with a thrilling launch or boat cruise experience through the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. This comes with lots of surprising encounters like the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and water birds, etc.

At the base of the falls, take pictures and later, proceed with the trek to the top. This will be done provided that the water level is low and allows you to cross from the docking point to where the hike starts from. At the top of the falls, enjoy the breathtaking views of the falls as it forces itself into a narrow rock of 7-8m wide and later, you will get back to the lodge using your 4×4 rental car.

Day 3Transfer to Kibale Forest National park

After enjoying a hearty morning breakfast, it’s time to pack your bags and embark on an exciting journey to Kibale Forest National Park, a sanctuary for the endangered chimpanzees. The drive itself is an adventure, winding through lush tea estates and vibrant banana plantations, adding layers of enjoyment and intrigue to your travel experience.

Upon arrival, you’ll have a choice of accommodations to suit your preferences and budget. For a midrange option, consider the Chimpanzee Forest Lodge or Kibale Forest Camp, both offering comfortable amenities amidst the natural beauty of the park. If you’re seeking a touch of luxury, Primates Lodge awaits to pamper you with its upscale facilities and serene environment, ensuring an unforgettable stay in the heart of the forest.

Day 4Guided Chimpanzee Trekking

Early in the morning have breakfast, get packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information Centre for registration and briefing on the rules of chimpanzee trekking experience. You will be grouped together with other clients and allocated a chimpanzee community to visit. The actual trek to see chimpanzees starts a 8:00am and can last for between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Kibale Forest National Park is the “Primate Capital of Africa” Sheltering the highest number of chimpanzees and several monkey species. The allowed time with chimpanzees is one hour from the time you meet them. In the afternoon, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland to experience more of the natural environment and embrace nature. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge

Day 5Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Anticipate your afternoon arrival, where a serene retreat awaits at your chosen lodge. Embrace the leisurely pace, refreshing and unwinding in tranquility. Following your morning adventure on the Kasenyi plains, savor lunch back at the lodge.
